Théo & Rémy’s fashion selection: the couple who double their style

Théo & Rémy’s fashion selection: the couple who double their style

At Fashion Week, it’s impossible to miss the duo, always dressed in exactly the same… Together since 2016, the creative duo Théo and Rémy have turned their love into a style, and their style into a calling card. OniriQ met them and gathered their latest favourite pieces of the moment. Selection.

A stylish duo… On their social media, now boasting over 220,000 followers across all platforms, the creative duo of Théo and Rémy cultivate an aesthetic at the crossroads of fashion, beauty and imagery. One element, in particular, makes them instantly recognisable: their wardrobe, designed together, lived together, worn in unison. Here, there is no mere coordination of colours or vaguely matching pieces. Together, they dictate a shared visual language, embrace a minimalist, unisex aesthetic and take the art of twinning to the point of exact mirror images on every outing.

Between Fashion Weeks and their hectic lives split between New York and Paris, OniriQ invited them to share their shared vision of fashion with you through a selection.

A wardrobe that unites a couple, or the other way round?

Their story began just 10 years ago. In 2016, whilst both were models, Théo and Rémy met on a Facebook group for industry professionals. Very quickly, they began seeing each other and soon got together. A few years later, Théo continues to make his mark in the industry as a model and professional make-up artist, having studied communications. Rémy, for his part, completed his studies in design and pattern-making with flying colours at the Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne.

Living together, they instinctively shared clothes, borrowing jackets, jeans and tops here and there. Same size, same shoe size, same tastes, everything seemed to align… But one day, when one had taken the other’s jacket without asking, it became clear: why choose when you love exactly the same things? One thing led to another, and a shared wardrobe became second nature for the couple. Noticed and complimented on the street when they dressed in perfect harmony, they decided in 2021 to launch a joint social media presence and turned their shared style into a recognizable visual signature…

At first, we wanted to launch a magazine. Rémy is a stylist and patternmaker. I’m a make-up artist, model and consultant. We’ve always shared this passion for fashion and wanted to share our vision. With social media, it’s not the print format we’d imagined, but it’s even more than that. It’s a journal of our inspirations, our desires, our shared style, our favourite designers and who we are…”, says Théo, before a nodding smile appears on Rémy’s face.

The twinning style (meaning wearing 100% identical outfits) quickly went viral, bringing together an ever-growing community with every post and taking them the front row of fashion shows, where they used to work behind the scenes. Since then, the pair have established themselves as a recognisable duo, praised for their creativity and mastery, making their mark on men’s Fashion Weeks with their looks.

Théo & Rémy’s fashion selection: the couple who double their style

But to reduce Théo and Rémy to a mere ‘matchy-matchy’ pair would be to miss the point… Behind the twin silhouettes lies a deeply considered take on fashion, shaped by years of practice and references. “When we started out, there weren’t many people championing this in-between style. You’d see it in collections, but they were rarely worn in real life. For us, it’s always been in our DNA. We love mixing both wardrobes, feminine and masculine, and making that the norm. Today, in our DMs [Instagram direct messages, ed.], lots of people thank us, say they identify with us and feel more empowered to explore gender and their own styles,” Rémy concludes.

Their way of dressing in unison is therefore part of a broader reflection on the boundaries of the wardrobe. With every photo or public appearance, they challenge, in their own way, the traditional codes of masculinity and femininity, intentionally creating a dialogue between them rather than pitting them against each other, all in a quest for balance and timelessness.

Fashion selection: the favourite pieces of the duo Théo and Rémy

When we talk about stylistic symbiosis, we’re not joking. Today, it’s impossible for either Théo or Rémy to step outside their home without coordinating their outfits. Even when we met, far from the glitzy venues of Fashion Week and their street-style photographers, the pair arrived confidently in 100% matching denim head-to-toe looks. Almost as if the catwalks were following them even on their days off. So, as you can imagine, when it comes to the shopping session, Théo and Rémy have to agree on standout pieces that appeal to both of them !

For OniriQ, Théo and Rémy have selected several pieces that are emblematic of their wardrobe: essentials they revisit season after season and would buy again and again without a moment’s hesitation…

The Saint Laurent boots

Théo and Rémy have found the perfect fit with this pair! At the top of their list of recommendations, the duo immediately place their Saint Laurent mid-calf boots. From Anthony Vaccarello’s Spring/Summer 2024 menswear collection, they have since featured heavily in their looks and, every time, spark a flurry of comments from those desperate to get their hands on them. A true signature piece, in their view.

It was the first show that really captured that blend of menswear and womenswear that we love so much. And we saw that in the boots, so we wanted to buy them. We went to the shop on Rue Saint-Honoré. Stock levels were very low, but we still asked for two pairs in the same size. But they only had a size 42 and a size 43 left. We tried them on and, luckily, both fit! We were really lucky,” says Théo first.

We wear them a lot these days because it’s hard to find that same vibe in other pairs. But we really try to look after them as best we can so they last as long as possible,” adds Rémy.

Saint Laurent sunglasses

Like any self-respecting fashionista, Théo and Rémy can’t imagine stepping outside without a good pair of sunglasses perched on their noses. To take them everywhere, the duo opts for a model that makes perfect sense: the Mica sunglasses from Saint Laurent. Why, you ask? On the one hand, the all-black frame means they can be worn on any occasion thanks to its minimalist design. On the other hand, the slightly cat-eye shape gives a more androgynous look than a simple pair of aviators, which are too predictable.

What’s more, it’s an iconic accessory, tried and tested by the two creatives, which is unlikely to leave their wardrobe. To get your hands on a pair, head to a boutique or the brand’s website (while stocks last, naturally).

The COS tote bag

Still in the accessories section, but more specifically in leather goods, Théo and Rémy reveal one of their “everyday bags” (everyday bags, in English). To accompany them from the front rows of Fashion Weeks to their numerous trips and appointments, they unhesitatingly choose the tote bag style from Swedish giant COS. But beware, not just any old one. Here, the tote, as it’s known, has been given a distinct makeover. Under the name Paradigm, it features high-quality leather, a sophisticated shoulder strap and a modular design that makes it casual and spacious.

Certainly one of the best choices for those who love a bag capable of holding a thousand and one things! To get your hands on it, however, you’ll have to wait for it to come back in stock.

The Zion jacket from The Frankie Shop

What could be better than a good leather jacket as an essential for getting through the mid-seasons in style? For Théo and Rémy, the ideal model can be found at The Frankie Shop with the Zion bomber jacket in faux leather. With its relaxed fit and wide stand-up collar, it easily gives any look a street-style vibe that perfect for strolling through the streets of Paris or the parks of New York. The balloon sleeves, meanwhile, add just the right touch of drama to elevate the piece from a simple basic to a fashion statement that will leave a lasting impression.

The Bouguessa trousers

Here, we’re looking at another iconic piece from the Théo and Rémy wardrobe. For this find, our two designers have sourced designer Faiza Bouguessa’s Aya style. These black trousers, far from ordinary, reinterpret the classic trouser with “a unique double waistband and symmetrical front panels for a distinctive touch ”, as the brand’s website explains. This creates a split silhouette through side ruffles in durable crepe.

A pair of trousers that many would only see on women, but which the duo adapts for men by pairing them sometimes with a draped top for an elegant look, and sometimes with other, more minimalist pieces to balance it out and give it a casual feel.

ALT Paris jewellery

To add a touch of style to their looks, our favourite duo opt for the French brand ALT Paris, founded by Theo Jaquet. Committed to ethical manufacturing, the label offers unisex jewellery in silver, vermeil and 18-carat gold. The holy grail, isn’t it?

In one of his recent posts, Theo highlights one of the jeweller’s iconic pieces: the necklace and its 3.0 silver and diamond ring pendant. A unique touch, a different way to wear the ring. In the photos, he poses in a tropical setting in the Dominican Republic, his blazer open across his chest, revealing the long necklace.

The Levi’s denim set

Arriving on the day of our meeting in matching outfits, Théo and Rémy couldn’t round off this selection of their essentials without mentioning their favourite denim set. Since nothing beats a good pair of jeans, they’ve turned to one of the biggest experts in the field: the Levi’s ’s. The duo thus embrace the total look trend with an oversized shirt (with the collar turned up) and baggy jeans in the same shade.

A fitting tribute to a classic dating back to 1873, with a more modern cut and look… We approve!
