Selection: 10 stylish trainers to say goodbye to sore feet

Are you fed up with sore feet by 1pm? Tired of having to pack a spare pair of shoes in your bag or even skipping certain outings for fear of discomfort? There is a solution: smart trainers. A far cry from purely sporty trainers, these chic styles are now replacing heels, ankle boots and loafers for every occasion.

There are days when we want to swap discomfort for freedom, without sacrificing style… For all those who are fed up with their loafers, ankle boots or ballet flats that have left their feet aching, but who don’t want to resort to tacky trainers, there are plenty of options available.

Indeed, stylish trainers are popping up on the shelves and (finally) granting us this pleasure: being able to move, walk and live life to the full… whilst looking impeccable. From Dior to Zegna, via Saint Laurent and ON, discover our unisex selection of 10 pairs that are changing the game.

The editorial team’s selection

5 women’s trainers for every occasion

As we curated our selection of sneakers, which keep one foot firmly in the realm of ‘bon chic bon genre’, one thing in particular stood out: flat trainers, in the Gazelle style, are all the rage in both men’s and women’s wardrobes. With that in mind, we made our first stop at the Ba&sh boutique. There, we fell for the Celeste trainer, with its cow-boy core camel and beige suede panels, as well as its visible stitched detailing. Slim and lightweight, they pair effortlessly with basic jeans, wide-leg trousers or a skirt, adding just the right touch of character to a simple outfit.

Next, we’ve fallen for Louis Vuitton’s new flagship model: the Sneakerina in vibrant fuchsia and deep chocolate brown. Its blend of suede and technical nylon creates a chic sportswear style, perfect for giving raw denim a twist or pairing with a neutral midi dress. And by the way, did you know that this one is as comfortable as a slipper? Definitely worth a try!

Over at Claudie Pierlot, we’re going for a retro look with the Swing trainer in navy blue cowhide leather. We love this style for its colour, white stitching, caramel-coloured rubber sole, and iconic Claudie graphic logo. What’s more, it’s a chic, versatile trainer that works just as well with straight-leg jeans and a striped top as it does with tailored trousers or a pleated skirt.

A new discovery we’d like to share with you: the satin trainers capsule collection from Spanish brand Hoff. In these designs, the brand focuses on softness, featuring shades such as powder pink, pale yellow and terracotta. A 100% retro-sporty and bright look, which we can picture with light-coloured jeans, cargo trousers or a denim skirt. Feel-good guaranteed!

Finally, for those who want to keep the leather look but enjoy the comfort of flats, we recommend checking out Miu Miu. On their website or in-store, discover their unconventional trainers in shiny cognac leather, which are ultra-trendy. With their distinctive logo buckles, quilted panels and ultra-smooth finishes, you’ll have just the right amount of character to accompany your steps.

5 men’s sneakers to combine style and comfort

In the men’s wardrobe, when you look at the trainers section, the range is significantly wider. Perhaps because gentlemen are more inclined towards comfort… Whatever the reason: we’re kicking things off in style with the ultra-desirable Swiss brand ON, which transforms our trainers into a true fashion statement. With its Cloud 6 model, you can go straight from the gym to your meetings without a hitch.

At Jacquemus, just as in the women’s range, the suede trend is followed with a light beige tone-on-tone design. Minimalist, with a caramel rubber sole and a slim silhouette, we believe it perfectly embodies Mediterranean nonchalance. Wear them with linen trousers and a white shirt in summer, or with a light-coloured suit in winter!

Meanwhile, Zegna’s midnight blue leather Triple Stitch Secondskin embodies sprezzatura: the art of effortless chic. An ultra-flexible slip-on with a contrasting white sole and clean lines, this sneaker fits seamlessly into a well-curated wardrobe. Perfect for pairing with a simple or more formal outfit!

DIOR Saltwind men’s trainers – €920

SAINT LAURENT gym trainers – €650

For lovers of boat shoes, Dior joins the fray and reinterprets the classic in its Summer 2026 collection with a distinctly modern twist. The Saltwind, as its creative director Jonathan Anderson calls it, features a simple calfskin upper, pastel canvas, grosgrain trims and a two-tone sole. A must-have, as we recommend, with shorts and an oversized T-shirt, to stay smart whilst keeping it casual!

And finally, we can’t forget Saint Laurent’s faux-casual trainers. Among the brand’s various offerings, we’re smitten with the Gym Sneaker in smooth leather. Minimalist and impeccably crafted, its sleek silhouette is enhanced by a discreet gold signature on the side: everything we love. Slip them on with bootcut jeans, a shirt casually tucked in and a well-cut blazer to complete the look. The kind of pair that embodies effortless luxury and perfectly complements a modern menswear wardrobe.
