For more than two centuries, the Maison Perrier-Jouët has made a name for itself in the world of spirits thanks to the quality of its exceptional champagne and also its passion for art. At the beginning of 2025, it is joining forces with Atelier Montex for the second time to design exceptional bottles that echo the beauty and joy of nature. The name of the collaboration? Ode à la Nature - Édition Volutes.
Priceless expertise
Founded in 1811 by Pierre-Nicolas Perrier and Rose-Adélaïde Jouët, over the decades the brand of Perrier-Jouët has crystallized the vision of the founding couple, who were passionate about nature and the love of the arts. It all began with Chardonnay, a bold choice of grape variety that very quickly defined the inimitable taste of Perrier-Jouët Champagne. Its floral aspect contributed to its success and was realized much later when Emile Gallé, one of the pioneers of the Art Nouveau movement, designed a Japanese anemone on the company's magnums. Today, this flower is the emblem of this excellent spirit and undoubtedly inspired Atelier Montex for the voluptuous collaboration to come. A true homage to the craftsmanship of before, this unique creation is a testament to the marriage of two French institutions.

A work of art in its own right
Ode à La Nature - Édition Volutes is a perfect example of what craftsmanship represents. Thus, the embroidered flowers gracefully surround the bottle of champagne. The structure is hand-crafted by a cabinetmaker in a meticulous 20-hour process and then covered with walnut arabesques and mirror-polished brass. The 24-carat gold-plated brass volutes are worked on by a jeweler for seven hours. Then, the almost musical score ends with the addition of flower and leaf motifs embroidered on silk organza. A real work of art that is close to haute couture. In addition to the plant decoration, there are more than 8,000 pearls and sequins in around thirty shades of pink, white, gold and green. A small detail? The heart of some of the flowers is adorned with white glass pearls. As a result, it takes 160 hours of work to make a single piece.
Cellar master Séverine Frerson explains in the press release: “Perrier-Jouët Belle Époque is a true icon; a rare and elegant champagne that pays homage to the blending art of the Perrier-Jouët brand. For this edition, we have chosen three vintages that illustrate this style over time.” In fact, each Belle Époque vintage comes from a different decade, spinning the metaphor of heritage inherent to this second collaboration. Having already worked in tandem in 2023, the brands are repeating the experience for a magical result. Atelier Montex's artistic director, Aska Yamashita, adds: “This collaboration is very interesting because it allows us to celebrate nature in different ways, both through Perrier-Jouët's rare vintage champagnes and through our custom-made prints of natural motifs. Reinterpreting Art Nouveau motifs in precious materials has been an exciting creative adventure.”
